Bottle boat
A summer’s day in France, by the river.
From messing around with washed up litter – a plastic bottle, plastic bag and some twigs – emerged the distinctive shape of a little sailboat.
Children playing nearby immediately recognized the outline and carried it off.
From this intuitive design the Flessenboot acquired her stylized form.
An empty (shampoo) bottle as hull, a colourful sail in a small wooden block, two elastic bands.
Partly recycled, but not designed with sustainability in mind. Everything revolves around the symbolism.
With relatively small changes existing products can acquire a very different meaning.
Stunning simplicity in an array of fresh colours.
